Handmade by the Sejnene Potters, an all-female cooperative in Tunisia, North Africa.
This vase is a classic shape and its size allows for a multitude of uses.
It is named for the oldest potter in the village, a woman who has helped create an organized system of passing down their unique methods of production to each generation.
Formed by hand from the clay found in their village, and then low fired, which sometimes results in areas of reddish coloring from the iron in the clay. After firing, each piece is decorated by hand with paints made from native plants. Entirely all natural, with no added chemicals.
Wonderful on its own and fantastic in a grouping!
