Handmade by the Sejnene Potters, an all-female cooperative in Tunisia, North Africa. This group has an organized system of passing down the unique methods of production to each generation.
This vase has so much charm!
It is named for one of the women potters. Formed by hand from the clay found in their village, and then low fired, which sometimes results in areas of reddish coloring from the iron in the clay. After firing, each piece is decorated by hand with paints made from native plants. Entirely all natural, with no added chemicals.
A classically shaped vase expressing a bit of whimsy by the women who made it!
